Basketball Recap: Oak Hills Piles Up the Points Against Phoenix Academy

On Saturday, everything came up roses for the Oak Hills Highlanders against the Phoenix Academy Firebirds as the squad secured a 64-14 win. The Highlanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Oak Hills to victory were Nathaniel Riep and Gabe Cox. Riep dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards, while Cox posted nine points and seven rebounds. Those nine points gave Cox a new career-high. Brady Keeton was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Oak Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Oak Hills has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.2 points. As for Phoenix Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Oak Hills will host Varsity Opponent at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Phoenix Academy and Northwood Academy will round out the year against one another at at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
