Softball Preview: Ross Rams vs. Mercy McAuley Wolves
The Ross Rams will stay at home for another game and welcome the Mercy McAuley Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Ross has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Monday, it was a hard-fought match, but Ross had to settle for an 8-6 loss against Mount Notre Dame.
Ross got a good showing from Taylor Bertram, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
At the plate, Juilianna Combs made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Commins, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Mercy McAuley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 16-1 walloping at the hands of Jackson.
Having lost for the first time this season, Ross fell to 2-1. As for Mercy McAuley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
