Basketball Recap: Wheatland Comes Up Short

Wheatland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 56-39 to the Laramie Plainsmen, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Plainsmen are ranked third).

Laramie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Mckinney out in front who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Dax Parvin, who earned nine points.

Wheatland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Laramie, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheatland will welcome Gering at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Laramie, they and Riverton will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
