Baseball Recap: Elba Gets the Win

Elba took an eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Red Level, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Elba had just enough and edged out Red Level 9-8. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Elba as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jay Wilson was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Easton McKelvy, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one RBI.

Elba always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Red Level only posted an OBP of .415.

The win got Elba back to even at 10-10. As for Red Level, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Elba will have a chance to go back-to-back against Red Level: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
