Softball Recap: Hidden Valley Has No Trouble Against Northside

Hidden Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Northside, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Titans put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 16-6 victory on Tuesday. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

ASHTON WOODSON was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, CAMLYN MORSTAD was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was CARLIE PLUNKETT, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Hidden Valley's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Northside, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Hidden Valley will host Pulaski County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northside, they are taking a road trip to face off against James River at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Knights have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
