Preview: North Posey Vikings vs. Tell City Marksmen
North Posey and Tell City are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The North Posey Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Tell City Marksmen at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (North Posey is ranked 178th, while Tell City is ranked 188th).
Last Tuesday, North Posey came up short against Princeton and fell 47-37. North Posey has not had much luck with Princeton recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mallory Luigs, who scored 11 points. Jazalyn Ward was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Tell City suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against South Spencer, falling 57-21. Tell City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
North Posey's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Tell City, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
North Posey strolled past Tell City when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 48-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Posey since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
