Baseball Game Preview: Castro Valley Trojans vs. Skyline Titans

The Castro Valley Trojans will square off against the Skyline Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Encinal hit Castro Valley with a eight-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Jets, falling 12-3. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Jets since Thursday.

Max Meier made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Castro Valley is 3-1 when Meier posts two or more runs, but 6-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Caleb Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Skyline made sure to put some runs up on the board against McClymonds on Friday. The Titans were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Warriors.

Felix Lopez-Reyes was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Castro Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Skyline, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
