Iola lost against Burlington back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Iola Mustangs took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burlington Wildcats. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burlington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexa Splechter, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine assists. Another player making a difference was Mac Medlock, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

Iola's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Burlington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Santa Fe Trail the next time they take the court. Burlington will host Santa Fe Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Iola will head out to face them on Tuesday.
