Baseball Game Preview: Oak Hills Bulldogs vs. Serrano Diamondbacks

For the second straight game, Oak Hills will face off against Serrano. The Bulldogs will take on the Diamondbacks at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Oak Hills has three straight wins, Serrano has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Oak Hills got the win against Serrano by a conclusive 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jacob Webster made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Manuel Berumen Jr was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Patrick Dufer, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Oak Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Oak Hills' record is now 12-6. As for Serrano, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
