Soccer Game Preview: Ridge Community vs. Auburndale

Ridge Community and Auburndale are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2015, but likely not for long. The Ridge Community Bolts will challenge the Auburndale Bloodhounds at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ridge Community will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Thursday, then bounced right back against Davenport on Tuesday. Ridge Community put the hurt on Davenport with a sharp 6-2 victory. Considering the Bolts' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Auburndale had just enough and edged Poinciana out 3-2 on Wednesday. Given the Bloodhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Eagles are ranked 448th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Auburndale hit Poinciana with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hayden Leake, Brentley Meyer, and Eduardo Lopez-Garcia.

Auburndale's win bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Ridge Community, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Ridge Community suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Auburndale in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ridge Community was down 4-1.
