Baseball Recap: Prairie Central Takes a Loss

Prairie Central had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-16 to make it four. They fell 4-1 to the Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 13-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Prairie Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Friedman, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.

On Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin's side, LIAM PARISH spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. PARISH also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Blue Devils are undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-8 otherwise.

At the plate, MICAH STANFORD was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. CADEN KELEMINIC was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Coming up, Prairie Central will be playing at home against Pontiac at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, they will head out on the road to challenge Salt Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Storm's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
