Football Recap: Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 44-12 win over the Ansley/Litchfield Spartans. With the Mustangs ahead 44-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Jordan Scoville had a dynamite game, rushing for 138 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Scoville and Isaac O'Neill.

Although Ansley/Litchfield took the loss, they still got scores from Owen Brott and Owen Cunningham.

Coming up, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller will host Stuart at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ansley/Litchfield, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Silver Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
