Baseball Recap: Beech Grove Hornets vs. Speedway Sparkplugs
Beech Grove extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-17 in the process. They came up short against the Speedway Sparkplugs, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sparkplugs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-3 on Wednesday.
As for Speedway, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-13-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.
For Speedway's part, Bradley Howard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
