Softball Recap: Henrico Drops Highest Score of Season Against Petersburg

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Henrico). Everything went their way against the Petersburg Crimson Wave on Monday as they made off with a 24-14 win. Considering the Warriors have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Henrico and bumps their season record up to 4-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for Petersburg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Henrico will be playing at home against John Marshall at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Justices have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.29 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Petersburg, they will head out to take on Thomas Dale at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
