Softball Recap: Turner Ashby Extends Winning Streak to Five

Turner Ashby had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Rocktown Raptors a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Turner Ashby's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Rocktown, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Turner Ashby will take on Harrisonburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Streaks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.57 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rocktown, they will head out to square off against East Rockingham at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
