Basketball Game Preview: Dr. Phillips Panthers vs. Jones Fightin' Tigers

The Dr. Phillips Panthers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Jones Fightin' Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

It was a proper cat-fight when Dr. Phillips duked it out withWinter Park on Tuesday. Dr. Phillips was beaten by Winter Park 78-50. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Wildcats are ranked 92nd).

Meanwhile, Jones was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 87-70 to Cahokia.

Dr. Phillips has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Jones, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Dr. Phillips beat Jones 83-70 in their previous matchup back in November of 2020. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Jones' Shelton Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
