Softball Game Preview: Arcata Tigers vs. Fortuna Huskies

Arcata is 2-8 against Fortuna since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. Arcata will be strutting in after a victory while Fortuna will be coming in after a defeat.

Arcata barely beat Eureka the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Loggers 13-3 on Wednesday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Fortuna unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against Del Norte, falling 12-1. The contest marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Fortuna saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mariah Bravo, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Fortuna's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-2. As for Arcata, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-6.
