Basketball Game Preview: Palmer Ridge Bears vs. Mesa Ridge Grizzlies

Palmer Ridge is 0-3 against Mesa Ridge since December of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Palmer Ridge Bears and the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies will meet for a tough Bear Battle.

Palmer Ridge is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against Discovery Canyon, falling 70-44. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Thunder are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, Mesa Ridge had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 49-48 victory over the Terrors.

Mesa Ridge pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Palmer Ridge, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Palmer Ridge took a serious blow against Mesa Ridge when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 71-35. Thankfully for Palmer Ridge, Tevin Riehl (who went 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points along with seven assists and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time.
