Basketball Recap: Caden Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southaven over Oxford

Southaven lost against Oxford back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Southaven Chargers fell 61-52 to the Oxford Chargers. Southaven's loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Southaven lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Caden Johnson, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds. Cameron Hammond was another key player, putting up seven points and seven rebounds.

Southaven's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Oxford, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Southaven wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-48 loss against Lewisburg on the 10th. As for Oxford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 83-70 defeat against Horn Lake on the 10th.
