Softball Recap: Meridian Warriors vs. Boise Brave
Meridian's last matchup with Boise could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. The Warriors came up short against the Brave, falling 13-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Maddie Clark made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Penelope Klinger, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meridian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for Boise, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Meridian will host Sitka at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Boise, they are taking a road trip to challenge Timberline at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Brave's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
