Recap: Fairview Tigers vs. Northwestern Wildcats
After losing to The Northwestern Wildcats the last time they met, the Fairview Tigers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Fairview took their match on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 43-6 victory over Northwestern. With Fairview ahead 36-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Vincent Campoli looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 50 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 167 yards and a touchdown while completing 81.8% of his passes. Tyler Benford was in the mix too, providing Fairview with two touchdowns.
Northwestern's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Lloyd Fountain, who threw for 127 yards and a touchdown.
Fairview's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-5. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23 points. As for Northwestern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Fairview will face off against Sharon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sharon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fairview in Pennsylvania (Sharon is ranked 134th, while Fairview is ranked 381st). Northwestern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
