Basketball Recap: Washburn Comes Up Short

After flying high against Edison last Saturday, Washburn came back down to earth. The Washburn Millers took a 67-51 bruising from the Coon Rapids Cardinals on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Millers in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost three in a row.

Washburn now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Coon Rapids, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washburn will head out to face off against Mound-Westonka at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coon Rapids, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Coon Rapids Cardinals take on the Princeton Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday.
