Thurston entered their tilt with Ashland on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Grizzlies. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Colts have posted against the Grizzlies since April 4, 2023.

Mallory McGuire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 13 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Daphnie Heckel was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Raygan Litle, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Thurston's record is now 4-22. As for Ashland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Thurston will have a chance to go back-to-back against Ashland: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
