Softball Recap: Mountain Pointe Has No Trouble Against Lake Havasu

Mountain Pointe's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Lake Havasu Knights 12-1. The high-scoring effort was just what the Pride needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Lauryn Chavez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Samantha Graves was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Evita Delgado was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

Mountain Pointe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Mountain Pointe is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-18-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Havasu, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-12.

As of now, neither Mountain Pointe nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
