Unity Christian suffers ninth straight loss at home

This season hasn't been kind to the Unity Christian Knights, who are still winless after their 13th contest. Their rough 60-40 loss to Morning Star Academy on Friday might stick with them for a while. Unity Christian has not had much luck with Morning Star Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Unity Christian had strong showings from Samm Wilbur, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, and Graham Foust, who scored 11 points. That was a full 40% of Unity Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Morning Star Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Yowell, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Yowell pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Axtman, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Unity Christian's loss was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for Morning Star Academy, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Unity Christian will be playing at home against Pathway Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
