Softball Recap: Juarez-Lincoln Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Juarez-Lincoln had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Valley View on Saturday. The Juarez-Lincoln Huskies put the hurt on the Valley View Tigers with a sharp 10-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won three games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Alexandra Marroquin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. She also put up a double, which washer first of the season. Sarai Gomez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Juarez-Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Juarez-Lincoln's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs over those games. As for Valley View, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, Juarez-Lincoln is taking a road trip to square off against Palmview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Juarez-Lincoln's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Palmview's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Valley View, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
