Volleyball Recap: Vandegrift Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Vandegrift can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Dripping Springs Tigers on Thursday. The shutout was out of character for the Vipers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

When it comes to explaining why Vandegrift lost, don't look at Isobel Cullen. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and three aces. Cullen has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

Dripping Springs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emerson Robbins out in front who had eight digs and three assists.

Vandegrift moved to 23-21 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Dripping Springs, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 27-18.

Vandegrift does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dripping Springs, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Clark on the 4th.
