Volleyball Recap: Preble Shawnee's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Preble Shawnee can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. Everything went their way against the Belmont Bison as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Arrows not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Preble Shawnee took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-9, 25-6.

Preble Shawnee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bentlee McCain, who had seven digs and six aces. Those six aces gave McCain a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubree Thompson, who had seven digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good server: Preble Shawnee was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 31 aces. They are 2-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Preble Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Belmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Preble Shawnee will square off against National Trail at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belmont, they will challenge Thurgood Marshall at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
