Basketball Game Preview: Menlo School Knights vs. Menlo-Atherton Bears

The Menlo School Knights and the Menlo-Atherton Bears will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Menlo School managed to keep up with Los Gatos until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Menlo School lost 68-44 to Los Gatos. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 52nd).

Meanwhile, Menlo-Atherton got the win against King's Academy on Wednesday by a conclusive 67-47.

Menlo-Atherton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Menlo School, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2.

Menlo School ended up a good deal behind Menlo-Atherton when the teams last played back in December of 2023, losing 66-52. Can Menlo School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
