Volleyball Recap: Maranatha Christian Takes a Loss

Maranatha Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Santa Fe Christian. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Santa Fe Christian this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

Maranatha Christian was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Santa Fe Christian work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 27-25, 25-19.

Presley Gibson paced Maranatha Christian's offense, picking up 12 kills. Gibson got some help from Quinn Kaechele and her 28 assists. Ellaina Lindberg controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Taryn Brown, who had eight digs and three assists.

Maranatha Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Santa Fe Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Maranatha Christian will head out to challenge Francis Parker at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Fe Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Pacific Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
