Football Recap: Norcross Starts Season with Win Against Lanier + How To Watch

Norcross gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They secured a 16-12 W over the Lanier Longhorns. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Longhorns are ranked 87th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All those points came courtesy of Elijah Frey: he added nine points with three field goals and another on an extra-point kick.

Despite the loss, Lanier saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Doyle Morrison picked up 113 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Norcross has already played their next matchup, a 45-28 victory against Mill Creek on the 22nd. As for Lanier, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 27-7 win against Mountain View on the 22nd.
