Softball Recap: Plainview Comes Up Short

Plainview's last matchup with Lubbock could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. Plainview lost 11-1 to Lubbock. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered against the Westerners since March 1, 2018.

Jakhai Gomez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Plainview has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Lubbock and bumps their season record up to 10-7-2.

Looking ahead, Plainview will square off against Tascosa at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lubbock, they will face off against Caprock at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
