Basketball Recap: James Lick Comes Up Short

James Lick lost against Hill back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The James Lick Comets took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hill Falcons. The Comets' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Leading Hill to victory were Ernesto Ochoa and Anthony Sanchez. Ochoa dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Sanchez went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points along with six assists and six steals. The contest was Ochoa's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Nicolas Huerta was another key player, putting up 13 points and six assists.

James Lick's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Hill, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-14.

James Lick has already played their next matchup (against Del Mar), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hill will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against San Jose at 7:00 p.m. Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully San Jose likes a good challenge.
