Baseball Recap: Cathedral Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While Cathedral put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Andress. The Cathedral Fighting Irish came out on top in a nail-biter against the Andress Eagles, sneaking past 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Fighting Irish, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cathedral let Kevin Jurado and Kikin Fonseca run wild. Jurado scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Fonseca scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Jurado also put up an RBI, which washis first of the season.

The win was the third in a row for Cathedral, bringing their record for this year to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs over those games. As for Andress, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Cathedral will head out on the road to challenge Coronado at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coronado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Andress, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
