Softball Recap: Dunbar Comes Up Short

Dunbar came into this matchup off a tough 17-run loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Lehigh Lightning by a score of 19-17 on Monday. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Emanie Rosiaste was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Madisyn Zimmer, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.

Dunbar dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 4.5 runs. As for Lehigh, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9.

Dunbar has already played their next contest, a 21-11 victory against South Fort Myers on the 15th. Lehigh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
