Recap: Waxahachie Prep Warriors vs. Faustina Academy Falcons
The Waxahachie Prep Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 65-49 bruising from Faustina Academy. Waxahachie Prep has not had much luck with Faustina Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
It was another big night for Ben Nelson, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 17 steals for Faustina Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nelson has scored all season. Joey Killian was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven steals.
Waxahachie Prep now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Faustina Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Waxahachie Prep will head out on the road to challenge Victory Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Victory Baptist Academy will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Faustina Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Harvest Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. Harvest Christian Academy is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
