Softball Recap: Freehold Boro Comes Up Short

Freehold Boro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Monmouth Regional Falcons, falling 17-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-4 on April 8th.

Paige Sheridan was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Edmonds, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Freehold Boro's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Monmouth Regional, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freehold Boro will host Ocean Township at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Monmouth Regional, they will challenge Pinelands Regional at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
