Preview: Liberty vs. Splendora
The Liberty Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Splendora Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty will be strutting in after a win while Splendora will be coming in after a defeat.
Liberty had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 1 goals), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on Anahuac with a sharp 5-0 win. Liberty's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Splendora's offense. Their rough 3-0 loss to East Chambers on Friday might stick with them for a while. Splendora has not had much luck with East Chambers recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Liberty's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7-1. As for Splendora, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-2.
Liberty came up short against Splendora when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 3-1. Can Liberty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
