Baseball Game Preview: Laurel Golden Tornadoes vs. East Central Hornets

For the second straight game, Laurel will face off against East Central. The Golden Tornadoes will square off against the Hornets at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Laurel has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with 15 straight defeats, while East Central will come in with five straight victories.

Friday just wasn't the day for Laurel's offense. They came up short against East Central on Friday, falling 15-0.

For East Central's part, Anthony Tanner was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Tanner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Combs, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

East Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matches.

Laurel's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for East Central, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
