2A Conference 34 recap November 19, 2013

Nottoway moved up to 183 from 234 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A Conference 34. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of topping King William 21-12.

Brunswick extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Amelia County, 35-20. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.

Goochland's dynamic duo of Jordan Jefferson and Joe Cutchins proved tough for East Rockingham to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Jefferson threw for 109 yards and 2 touchdowns and Cutchins had 40 yards receiving. David Dyer helped Goochland's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 42 yards.

Jujuan Lawson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Nottoway beat the Cavaliers.

Grayson Throckmorton's team's Balik Brown and Shalik Brown led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Brown has thrown for 701 yards this season, while Brown has 11 catches for 302 yards. The Bulldogs' Dyer leads the league in rushing yards with 1,034.

At the moment, the Cougars are in third, while Brunswick is in second.

Goochland took down East Rockingham 52-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jefferson ran for 22 yards during the win.
