Football Recap: Viewpoint Skates Past Del Sol with Ease + How To Watch

The Viewpoint Patriots blew past the Del Sol Jaguars, posting a 42-15 win. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly 27 points.

Viewpoint's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Magnus Merriman led the charge by throwing for 217 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt. Those three passing touchdowns gave Merriman a new career-high. Viewpoint's leading receiver Shane Anderson was Merriman's top target yet again, picking up 92 receiving yards and three scores.

Viewpoint didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ainabe Osezuwa, Ben Burkin, and Adam Marquez picked up one apiece.

Although Del Sol took the loss, they still got scores from Hector Villase?or and Jose Perez.

Viewpoint has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 34.5 points this season. As for Del Sol, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Viewpoint will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on California City at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Del Sol, they will square off against Santa Paula at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
