Chanute typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Girard proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Blue Comets 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Blue Comets: they've now won four in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (68-64) Girard actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-23, 25-20.

Maddie Coester paced Girard's offense, picking up 18 kills. Coester got some help from Emilee Hanks and her 25 assists.

Girard's victory bumped their record up to 24-10. As for Chanute, their defeat dropped their record down to 26-1.

Girard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against McPherson on the 4th. As for Chanute, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Field Kindley on the 7th.
