Volleyball Recap: Ursuline Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Howland, Ursuline was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Salem Quakers by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Fighting Irish, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ursuline had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-14, 25-12, 27-25.

Mia Haggerty paced Ursuline's offense, picking up 17 kills. Haggerty got some help from Reagan Sambroak and her 23 assists. Sambroak was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Ursuline now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Salem, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Ursuline didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Canfield on the 23rd. As for Salem, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 win against United on the 23rd.
