Softball Recap: Eastside Eagles vs. Southside Christian Sabres
Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They came up short against the Southside Christian Sabres, falling 19-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sabres this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-10 on April 2nd.
Kayden Vinson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Hitch, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 1-18-1. As for Southside Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastside will face off against Wade Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Generals have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Southside Christian, they will square off against Powdersville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
