Softball Game Preview: White House Blue Devils vs. Station Camp Bison

White House is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Station Camp Bison at 5:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: White House has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Station Camp will arrive with four straight victories.

Thursday just wasn't the day for White House's offense. They came up short against Mount Juliet on Thursday, falling 12-0.

Meanwhile, Station Camp narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past East Robertson 11-10.

Presley Kouba made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting four hits from her five at bats. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ava Weis was incredible, scoring four runs while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Chloe Anglin was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Station Camp kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.2.

Station Camp's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for White House, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

White House skirted past Station Camp 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Does White House have another victory up their sleeve, or will Station Camp turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
