Football Recap: New Caney Comes Up Short + How To Watch

New Caney extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were beaten by the Willis Wildkats 42-7. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

PAYTON LOPEZ threw for 123 yards and one touchdown. BRAYDEN LOGAN was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards. On the ground, COREY JOHNSON rushed for 27 yards.

As for Willis, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The result was nothing new for Willis, who have now won four games by 28 points or more so far this season.

Willis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lincoln Frazier out in front who threw for 335 yards and four TDs. Frazier is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarcus Williams, who rushed for 101 yards and one score on only seven carries.

Coming up, New Caney will head out on the road to challenge Caney Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Willis, they will welcome Conroe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
