Basketball Recap: Bethlehem Central Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Bethlehem Central's strategy against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on Friday. The Bethlehem Central Eagles took down the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans 54-36. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Larson, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Larson a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Maggie Lescault, who posted nine points and four steals.

Bethlehem Central's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Bethlehem Central will take on Averill Park at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-40 loss against Troy on the 21st.
