Softball Recap: Fillmore Wins Going Away Against Channel Islands

While Fillmore put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Channel Islands. The Fillmore Flashes were the clear victor by a 13-0 margin over the Channel Islands Raiders. The Flashes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

The team relied heavily on Jennie Ponce, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Jacqui Ordonez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Fillmore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Fillmore and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Channel Islands, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Fillmore didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-0 loss against San Marcos on the 27th. As for Channel Islands, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-2 defeat against Hueneme on the 27th.
