Baseball Recap: Antioch Comes Up Short

Antioch had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it five. They lost 15-0 to the Lawson Lightning. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lightning this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Tuesday.

As for Lawson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

For Lawson's part, Harper Schneiderman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Schneiderman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Henry Sheaffer was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Keifer Bruck, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Coming up, Antioch will head out to square off against Cane Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lawson, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Creek Wood at 7:00 p.m.
