Softball Recap: Mountain View Wins Going Away Against South Salem

Mountain View's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the South Salem Saxons with a sharp 18-3 win. Considering the Cougars have won ten contests by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Stella Rhodes, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Marley Russell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mountain View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

The victory got Mountain View back to even at 13-13. As for South Salem, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-23.

As of now, neither Mountain View nor the Saxons have any future games scheduled.
